OV Updates

 

  • The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok opened for overseas voting on 10 April 2022 (Sunday).
  • Voting activities took place simultaneously at the chancery in Bangkok and at the consular outreach mission in Phuket on 10 April 2022.
  • Today, 12 April 2022 (Tuesday), the Embassy sent the first batch of election packets to registered overseas voters in various locations in Thailand via registered mail. They are expected to reach their destinations in 3-4 days. As earlier announced, the Embassy aims to finish the mailing of ballots by 22 April to ensure that there is ample time for voters to accomplish their ballots and mail them back so that the Embassy receives them before the end of the voting period at 6:00 PM on 09 May 2022 (Bangkok time).
  • The first day of counting was held on 11 April 2022 using the Vote Counting Machine (VCM) in the presence of watchers. The counting started from 9:00 AM and ended at 12:10 PM without any incident.
  • In accordance with Sec. 34 of COMELEC Resolution No. 10751, the Embassy will not give any public announcement on the state of the polls and any information on the status of counting until the end of the voting period. The final results will be announced in accordance with the procedures of the said resolution. 
  • The Embassy reminds overseas Filipinos in Thailand that only registered voters whose names appear in the Certified List of Overseas Voters (CLOV) for purposes of the 09 May 2022 National Elections are allowed to vote.
  • The Embassy likewise reminds all Filipinos in Thailand of COMELEC guidelines prohibiting all forms of campaigning within the thirty (30) day voting period from 10 April to 09 May 2022 (Sec. 72 of COMELEC Reso 10751). END
